Front-panel Components and Their Functions

Number Component Description of Function

 Liquid crystal display Displays pictures.

 TALLY 1 TALLY lamp (red): controlled by rear-panel tally connector (contact-driven).

 TALLY 2 TALLY lamp (green): controlled by rear-panel tally connector (contact-driven).

 ERROR LED ERROR lamp (red): comes on when there are no input signals or when an error occurs.

 POWER LED POWER lamp (green): comes on when the power is supplied.

 MODE (*2) Shows a menu of modes to select from.

 FREEZE (*2)

Switches between the FREEZE and

UPDATE options.

 LINE SEL (*2) Shows a menu of lines to select from.

 OVERLAY (*2)

Sets the picture overlay function to ON or

OFF.

 FUNCTION (*2)

Shows a menu of functions to select from.

*2: These switches have fixed functions. For

further details, see "Common to all modes

(fixed function switches)" in subsection

4.2.1.

 F1 (*3) FUNCTION 1

 F2 (*3) FUNCTION 2

 F3 (*3) FUNCTION 3

depending on the mode. For further
